TPI 3000-4500 RPM misfire

Can anyone help me out? i have a 84 Z28 that i installed a stock 305 and TPI with MAF off of an 87 IROC. I have replaced everthing in my ignition system and still i have a missfire around 3000-4500 RPM. The engine runs well till then ,, but as soon as i hit around 3000 RPM the tach starts jumping around and the engine surges and backfires throught the exhaust. When i unplug the timing conector from the computer it seems to run better. Does anyone have any sugestions? THANKS!!!!

* check your timing, should be 6deg with timing connector (EST) disconnected.

* check your dizzy/ignition module
