ADS chip?? Not Camaro but can you help?
When I bought my '89 Corvette recently, the owner said he had replaced the computer because of some strange problems he couldn't trace and in so doing had taken out the non-stock chip and replaced it with the stock chip . He did this just on a hunch that maybe the computer was "damaged" by the after market chip. It has a label that reads: ADS Super Chip and on the side it says 1989 Corvette 350 TPI automatic
8922-B
How can I tell if it is any good, and what it would do for the car??
Does anyone know anything about these or at least know an address for the ADS company??

if i were you i'd install the chip it is very unlikley that it will damage anything.just make sure that you disconnect the battery first.i also wouldent expect too much difference from the chip as i've read a few ads chips and they dont seem to change very many paramiters.seems that the usual are tcc lockup points 'a little more timing and sometimes they ajust fuel delivery a small amount.

actually, i have an 88 vette, and i put an ADS 8822-B, just like your chip in my computer. and guess what, 7 months down the road i had to replace the computer. btw, i got no gain at all from the chip, it just turned on the fans sooner. im running the stock chip now with a fan switch instead. maybe its just a coinsidence, but it happens to be two vettes, with two ADS chips, and two failed computers. also i took the ads chip apart to use the memcal to start burning my own chips, and the board of the memcal looked like it had hot spots all over it and burned slightly. i had to get a new memcal. ive still got the ADS memcal, email me if you want me to take some pictures to show you where it looks like its burned. i think ADS just plain sucks.

Car: 89 IROC-Z
Engine: 383
Transmission: 700R4
I had an ADS chip in my IROC for two years and then it died. I thought the computer was shot, but it ended up just being the ADS chip. I put the factory one back in alone and it's all good now.
