swap 86 IROC cam for stock 85 IROC cam?? - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

Hi guys, I was wondering since my car is almost completely stock, that if I were to get the stock 85 305 TPI cam and put it into my 86 IROC 305 with the peanut cam would it really give me 25 more horse?? mine - 190 stock, 85 IROC - 215 stock HP. I know there is a 10lbs. of torque difference. Will it be an overall improvement or not, should I look at a different cam?? I dont want to change my PROM or ECM or anything just the cam swap. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!!

IMO, thats too much work for too little. You could get that sorta power with a decent exhaust and its easier to do. If you really want to change the cam, I'd pick something better.
