LT1 injectors

Hi, so I just got around to installing my LT1 injectors into my fuel rail, and noticed that the LT1's are a little bit shorter. Does this matter at all? I guess it just freaked me out a little, and I only put one in so far. I just want to make sure these are going to seal.

Re: LT1 injectors

Anybody?

I did search, and people said they will work, but no one mentioned that they are shorter. Hell are these even LT1 injectors?

Thanks for the link, yes, like I said, I did try searching, and came up empty, there is to much garbage on this forum. I am not through that thread you gave me, but like everything else on this forum, no one has a definite answer. Thank you though, for the link.

I've swapped them in with an older setup. They are shorter, but like John Millican had pointed out, all that really matters is the distance between the o-rings, and they're exactly the same. For added insurance though, trim 1/4" off of the support towers (also mentioned in the thread) and they will seal perfectly. I did that myself a few years back, no problems whatsoever (in reference to fuel scent, leakage etc.)....

Re: LT1 injectors

Ya, I am going to just try them, I read that thread, and put them all on the rail, and with a test fit, they seem pretty tight. Plus my o-rings seem decent, that link re-assured all the doubts I had of them injectors, the OHM rating and all that, hell If I have to take it back apart and re-do it later on down the road, then so be it, but they fit pretty good. Thanks.

Re: LT1 injectors

I didn't read that posted thread, but if the LT1 injectors are anything like the Ford injectors, then the shorter height will NOT be a problem.

You DO want to us the clips to hold the top end of the injector in the fuel rail, so the difference in the height will be seen at the bottom of the injector. Ultimately the end of the injector won't be as deep down inside the manifold, but it's STILL plenty deep down in there! -plus, the O-rings are still in the same place, so there's no issue with leakage.

(at least for the Fords)
