Injectors not firein

well i got a MAP sensored TPI 350, in a 92 s10. well i just did an overhaul on the engine, and now it seems like the injectors aint fireing. the engine will start with a little startin fluid. and my timein is set. but i put a voltometer to the injectors plugs and when the key is on i have 12+ volts runnin to all the injectors and when i crank it over it drops to 8 and never pulsates or anything. im kinda lost on this stuff. so any help is greatly appreciated.

Try using a noid light, it'll be easier than using a voltmeter.

ok well got a niod light. and when i first crank it everyone of them fires but somtimes after that first fire they just quit. and ill turn the key off and on and theyll come back to life. but it still wont fire. ill get a couple pops here and there and thats bout it. i have checked the grounds, connections, and when i checked the fuel rail for pressure it gave a good squirt.

Re: Injectors not firein

o ya if i spray in some startin fluid itll fire right up. ive also removed the egr. and when i did that i couldnt figure out where my vacuum lines were to go so there all kinda plugged into each other could it be the FPR not getting enough vacuum or something??. and ive changed the direction that the distributor points. i still have everything firein in the right order it just points off to side now.

Re: Injectors not firein

I hve read your pickup coil and ignition control at base of dizzy also controls the injectors pulses..
I also just overhauled my engine and removed the egr i have a problem with to much fuel the opposite to what your saying i am also supicious of my vacuum lines since the egr block off...

There is some programming also needed to the memcal once the egr is blocked.

Re: Injectors not firein

the old egr was never hooked up it just had vacuum goin to it. and ive been told that maybe the distrubutor aint functioning right. and then ive also been told that my fuel pressure relay might not be workin after i start cranking on it. so i think i am goin to try the dist. tomrrow. and go from there. as i understand is that the fuel pressure regulator is run off vacuum of course.. and if theyre aint enough vacuum then it wont pull the pressure down. but you can disconnet the vacuum from the FPR and you will just have a high fuel pressure...

Re: Injectors not firein

ok well found out that it a 90-91 camaro TPI. replaced the fuel pump relay and the pickup in the dist. got spark. timeing is right. injectors are gettin pulse. but it seems like it isnt gettin fuel. when i have the key on and hit the purge in the back it squirts all over the place. but after i crank for awhile none of the plugs are wet or show any signs of fuel. and just 1 cylinder on the pass. side is firein consisntly everytime. spay in some carb cleaner and fires right up and even keep it runnin a little bit. im just lost and wanna get my truck goin again. thanks
