Have you tried cleaning it? It's usually gum that makes them stick.

You probably could have once, I don't know about now. Have you tried a little oil on the throttle shaft? As a temporary solution you jerry-rig a carb return spring to pull it back.

The spring should be OK, unless it's been removed and not wound properly on installation.
You might try using a feeler gauge to measure the clearance of the idle screw, then back it out to allow the plates to completely close after loosening the plate screws. Now open & close the throttle a couple of times to allow the plates to reset to center, then while holding it closed tighten the plate screws. Set the idle screw back to where it was and see if it works any better.

Re: anyway to fix a throttle body???

If the shaft/bores are worn enough it will cause a sticking problem.

Check for any up/down or side to side movement.

Re: anyway to fix a throttle body???

if i back down the idle screw, the plate stays in the same position, untill i push it back. i was goin to try to jerry-rig a carb return spring to pull it back, but i thought it would make the pedal to hard. i gave up. Decided to eat it, and upgrade to a 52mm throttle body. do throttle cable ever stick (binding up), like e-brake cable do???
