tpi ok?

I got a crate engine from summit thats going in my 91 s10 with 373s, tci street fighter th400 and a 3300 converter. I am thinking about going with tpi instead of a carb. Heres the engine,

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...T&autoview=sku

Camshaft:
.480 Int / .486 Exh & 224 Int / 230 Exh duration @ .050 - 110 degree lobe sep.

I would like to go with a speed density setup, and i will most likley use megasquirt. I dont want to swap the cam, so will tpi work alright with my setup or should i ditch the idea?

I searched and did not really find what i was looking for, if any of you guys know of a previous thread with this info i will be glad to read it.

Re: tpi ok?

From what I'm reading about my next project, your 385hp potential is gonna need some larger TPI plenum tubing. I been looking at the FIRST system because of the side mounted throttle body and larger plenum runners. They will also adapt to vortec heads with a different baseplate. Check it out... http://firstfuelinjection.com/products.htm

Uh... here's you a Christmas present. Summit always gaurantees not to be undersold and the crate setup you got is the one I been looking at over at Pace Performance for $500 less. Maybe I missed something but it would be worth a call to Summit to ask.

Look about halfway down the page...

Let me know if they give you some money back. I do a LOT of business with Summit Racing and this would be another good story if they do what they say. Please update and Good Luck!!

Re: tpi ok?

Im bringing this one back from the dead. I really wish I would of saw that post when he posted it and gave summit a call, too late for that now lol.

I would still like to go to TPI with my crate engine heres a link with dyno numbers;

Do you guys think I could tpi that engine?
I am planning on using some type of aftermarket runners, with a stock base and plenum. I have much to learn, but the torque peaks in a good place for the tpi, but what about the horse power? Will the tpi hurt the peak hp?

thanks for any help!

Re: tpi ok?

I think I am going to go with stock runners and plenum with the edelbrock base. That will be easy to find, and budget friendly. Maybe a little port work on the runners.
