88 TPI MAF question

I want to replace the air restricting air filter with a k&n air cleaner that hooks right up to the throtle body. Question is where does the MAF go?

Re: 88 TPI MAF question

The MAF has to be in series with the incoming air charge. You would want the MAF in between the air cleaner and the throttle body, as it is now... which may not be possible with the unit that you want to use.

You will probably want to consider a different filter.

Re: 88 TPI MAF question

Your engine is a MAF motor. The Air filter you are describing is for a Speed Density motor. You cannot use this style air filter on a MAF engine. The Mass air meter has to be between the engine and the air filter in the Cold Air intake.
