87 TPI 5.0 thermostat

Will the factory computer/chip work with a cooler thermostat?? 160/180 Or does it have to be the recommended 195.I believe..

It will work fine with the cooler T-stat but to get the fans to come on earlier will require a chip reburn or a manual fan switch.

A cooler than OE t-stat will simply open sooner. If what your after is to reduce the normal operational temps, along with the cooler t-stat you'll need to replace the OE fan switch with an aftermarket fan switch.
