what do you have to do to switch to an inline fuel pump on a tpi 1991 trans am...can i just take the original sending unit out and just let the intake line in the tank alone and put my inline on??
The last time I heard of someone doing this, they were going to take the sending unit out of an early carb'd f-body (82-84) and use that. I imagine you could remove the pump from the sending unit and fabricate a tube to take the place of the pump, though.
It will act as a huge restriction if you try to pull through the factory pump. You will develop pressure but not volume. It wont run at anything over 2000 rpm.
