you cant mix the two style injectors due to the different pound rating.
Id stray away from stock lt1 injectors due to being used and known to junk. Id go accel to southbay bosch III injectors
gm injectors are multi-tec injectors......ewwww
reason for my hating of lt1 injectors....im in my 2nd set and tehy are going out
Ford injectors are the same design in that vintage, I believe. You should be able to pick up some 24# SVO/Ford Motorsport injectors as another alternative.
I remember years ago I put a set of (eBay purchased) 30# SVO injectors into a TPI and they fit just fine. Unfortunately, they were not 30# as advertised (eBay- buyer beware!) and it took us quite a while driving around with a scan tool running to figure that out! There was nothing physically wrong with them, however. They fit and performed just fine, they were just not the size the seller said they were.
There was great debate a while back about the flow ratings of Forg vs. GM injectors, since they are rated at slightly different pressures in the specs. Long story short, some very smart cookie on this board flow tested them and found that they flow identically, depite their different pressure ratings. A 24# Ford injector flows the same as a GM 24# injector with the same pressure supplied to each.

i HIGHLY recomend going to southbayfuelinjectors.com and look at their line up. There is a member here with the southbay name and they have a 10% sale on injectors. I picked mine up before the sale at 150 for a set of ford racing 24 pound injectors....just saying

I have six Ford Yellow's off of a 4.6, rated at 19 pounds, but flow closer to 22 pounds if you want, which you can use with the L98's. Was asking $45 shipped, but I'll go down to $30 shipped just to get them outta here....

so is there no point in getting the ford over the gm's? ive heard for years on this board people swear ford's are better.

stock vs stock ford racing injectors are far more reliable than the gm MULT-TECs found in lt1's and tpi
i have a set coming from southbayfuelinjectors
24# injectors ford motor racing

Birdtojag uses them too. He has no problem and I will be using a set as soon as I can find some.
On a side note; I thought L98 injectors were 24 lb....???

89 and older l98's got 21lb
90-92 got 22lb
(from dealer spec books...i was thinking about buying new gm injectors until price came up LOLOLOL)
to other subject, i bought the lt1/ l98/ mustang 24lb ford motor sports racing set for 150....
and i missed the discount code gave up but sotuhbay....i could of really used 10% off lol
i just bought the ford 24lb injectors for a stock replacement in my 87 350tpi.are theu too big?
No, they are not too big. I just installed a set of 28 pound stock GN injectors on my 350-TPI and it runs fine, didn't even adjust PW yet. Also installed a set of 24 pound LT1 injectors on 305-TPI, untuned, same results. Your fine, but you'll wanna tune them in eventually though....
i`m interested in the offers here, but being you guys are in the states and i`m in canada, shipping and border fee and the exchange rate are gonna probly kill me LOL
i`d LOVE to get a set of 22 lbs TPI injectors, i want the best MPG i can get, it`s just no one has the TPI injectors and everyones got the LT-1 injectors.
i`ve looked into a new set of injectors from NAPA, there like $100 EACH.
man it`s so depressing, so many people are asking thing how to make there f-body`s faster, i`m just trying to keep mine running LOL

I ran a set of 24# lt1 injectors with no problem...but watch out for early (93) corvette injectors, they are rated at 50psi which makes them like 19 or 18#. I don't know for sure, but when I went to purchase ford injectors, I was informed that they run on 37psi....not 43.5 psi.....

Chris, what exactly is wrong with the right bank? Did you ohm the injectors, and are they reading too low? Did you pull the plugs on the drivers side, and are they dry? What exactly is the problem....?

i ohm`d all 8 injectors the left bank read anywhere from 16 - 16.5 , the right bank reads over 20 ohms.
the cars not running right, theres no codes though, the O2 sensor was changed 2 years ago, it had plugs and wires 2 years ago too, i`m changing the plugs soon though.
oh and i`ve also replaced the fuel pump with a GM pump last year. cause i thought it was the pump that was bad b4 i figured out it was the injectors
but it just doesn`t have the power it should have or the MPG, when i 1st got the car it had AWESOME gas milage and was like a freaking rocket.... i want that back.
last time i did injectors i put in 95 LT-1 injectors because, 2 or 3 of the injectors went bad and were over heating the computer and shutting my car down. now one year later 4 of the injectors went bad YAY.

Injectors reading 20-ohm may still operate, but when the windings go they will eventually go completely open. If you were dumping that much fuel into the engine you would get hit with a code 45. I wouldn't necessarily say it's the injectors without a proper scanning, as if your complaining about WOT performance, and gas mileage, it could simply be your tranny detent cable. What is your base timing?

I was just expressing my satisfaction with the Ford injectors in general.
My car has the Ford 24 pounders, and its not exactly a stock l98, but not
much better. AZTPI supplied them, I think I shelled out some fat cash for 'em
though. But, yea I think factory was 21 for my '89 car.. I think I still got those
old grease balls in my garage!

Find 'em cheaper, more power to you!
Ah, ok! I was curious. Glad I'll be using the LT-1 injectors! I know a guy who rebuilds them. I wonder what else he can do to em....

base timming is 6*
i`ll ohm all the injectors later and post the numbers for each injector.
i`m also running a JET chip. i wanna replace it with the factory prom, i diddn`t put the JET chip in the car.
is it possible my computer is fried? from the old injectors going bad and over heating it?
