I need to replace the cold start injector on my 305 tpi and dont know how. It seems like an easy task but I want to make sure if I screw up it wont ruin my engine. Its an 88 tpi 305. If any one has step by step instructions it would be greatly appreciated. I want to get this Camaro back on the road soon.

REAL EASY..remove the line from the fuel rail.. take out the 1 bolt that holds the injector in the manifold. Once you get it out you will see a tab that keeps it from spinning.. bend that tab upward out of the way.. hold the line with 1 hand and unsrew the injector to the left untill you can pull it free from the line. Thats it.. To answer the post above.. 85-88 have cold start valves
A couple of other things to look for. The line from the cold start goes to the back of the fuel rail, and sometimes can begin to leak. If you are going to take it apart, get the O-ring kit to replace both orings- the one on the cold start and the one at the back of the rail. Also, do you have the new valve? I tried to buy one a while back, and could not find one anywhere. Wound up eliminating the cold start via a change to '89 code in the ECM and a cold start delete kit from EBAY. Last, is the cold start valve bad? Have you checked the cold start switch at the front of the manifold? And all the connectors? Jon at FIC can clean and test your Cold Start Valve. He tried to fix mine, but it was not repairable.
