New throttle body and cable questions

so i installed a summit 52mm t-body cause my tps screw holes where striped and i used it as an excuse to buy a bigger one haha.. the install went smooth and i adjusted the tps dead on and the iac is good. and the car runs smooth with no problems at all.. my only 2 questions are #1- i have ram air boxes and after the install she is making a very loud suction noise very loud.. i figure theres no vaccum leaks cause she is running perfect as can be is this normal #2.. and also there is a bit of slack in my throttle and cruise control cables.. dont know if this affects anything but should there be slack???

Re: New throttle body and cable questions

Well for starters the loud suction noise is common in TPI motors. I assume you've probably seen the air foils for the throttle bodies to help smooth out the air flow. Now im not saying that's what causing it as once you added the ram air box and got away from the factory set up it will have a different sound to it but overall they natrally make a bit of a noise like a vacuum leak. I would just check it over for a vacuum leak just in case. Next when you say you have have slack in the cables how much slack are we talking about?

Re: New throttle body and cable questions

a very little amount.. i mean theres play there.. i can slide the throttle bracket about a quater of and inch back and forth on the linkage peg.. nothing insane like droopping lines.. also i dont thing there is any vaccum leaks there was and the car was running like shi$ but i took the t-body off removed the throttle plate that was to long and jamming it up and reinstalled it and it runs smooth a perfect now.. the idle is a bit high maybe 800 in drive at idel but to be honest i prefer it there..
