I just converted to tpi and have a question about routing fuel lines. I've attached a picture to help display how I want to run the lines. Right now, my fuel lines come up on the driver's side, in front of the firewall, right next to the distributor. I have no need for the 9th injector, so I was thinking about using that hole for the new inlet and plugging the old inlet. For the return, I want to cut most of the old line and reroute it to exit near where the new inlet would be. Anyone see issues with what I want to do?
Mods so far: MSD Cap and rotor, MSD ignition coil, Accel 8.8mm ignition wires, Hooker Super Comp Shortie Headers, Flowmaster 3in catback, underdrive crank pulley, custom cold air intake, NOS wet 125 shot, air foil and a lead foot! no E/T's yet. ...TURBO COMING SOON...Other mods include keyless entry and remote start, and Sequential Turn Signals.
Re: Custom inlet/return line routing on stock rail?
that looks backwards to me.
my two lines dont go down the front of the fuel rails, they go down the back near the firewall. and there is a rail to rail in the front.
Re: Custom inlet/return line routing on stock rail?
The only problem you might have is setting up the new inlet, its an oddball fitting they used. IIRC there isnt much material to retap to a larger size either.
Re: Custom inlet/return line routing on stock rail?
actually, now that I look at it a little better, I think it is possible IF you weld new bungs (-6AN in my case). I thought about deleting the stock FPR and just using a completely aftermarket FPR...
Can your design work, yes. But I'm not sure it can work without modifying the rails/inlet ports...
