Car: 1985 Trans Am Engine: 361 ci Transmission: WC T-5 Axle/Gears: 9 Bolt, 3.27 Posi | Upgrading to newer wiring harness instead of repinning ecm? Well Ive got an 85 TPI car with the 870 ECM which we all know is slow. I've seen posts and websites on repinning the 85 harness to the newer 165 ECM (86-89). I thought why not just switch the whole harness and ECM. I'm in the process of purchasing a harness and ECM out of an 86 TA TPI car. I don't forsee any problems in doing this. Everything SHOULD just plug right in. Any advice on this? I know there are the MAF relays I will have to buy but I think that might be it. Thanks in advance, Eric. Oh and here's a pic of my engine bay so it shouldn't take too long at all to complete. | | |
