Well I recently had a bad backfire through the intake and it popped the super ram plenum from the runners on one side as well as sprung the lid. So I've got a bunch of stripped holes. Best solution is to get them welded and then retap them. What are my other options? I'm not sure helicoil is the W2G. Has anyone changed out the lower bolts to studs or done something else? I had slotted the screws which does really help with installation.

Re: stripped out bolts on superram plenum, Options?
Why do they say not to use them? I want to hear that.
They're stainless steel. I put some into an aluminum manifold about 15 years ago and its still just fine.

Yes, the insertion tool winds the spring, thus making it smaller in circumference to install. When installed, it is still under tension. They don't come out and they don't strip nearly as easily as the aluminum does. Good all the way around.
