alright, well i just bought a gta w/ a 350tpi in it.im not used to this engine so im askin someone for help.the problem is my car has trouble starting.usually i crank the engine like 6-7 times about 4 seconds each and the car finally starts, but,if i spray starting fluid into the throttle(not directly in it,but in the air tube or wat ever its called) it'll usually start on the first try after like 3 seconds.i mean i thought it would be the fuel pump but i can hear it kick on after i turn the key once.im just tryin to find out as much opinions and as much as i can about this engine so thanks
Hi im new to this board and to the 350 tpi as well... I am having the same problem on a 92' formula I just got its pretty much bone stock right down to the ac delco plugs it has (all the ignition parts seem to be a little old but otherwise look good) I have been reading about this "cold start injector" although as I said I am new to these and have no idea what or where that is... Any help on this would be great as its slowly draining the battery due to the lenth to start and therefore unacceptable.
What are some other causes that this only happens when starting the car after 6-8 hours... I race dirt track and when I have this problem its a timing or the plugs are fouled pretty simple setup we run but these Im lost...

i have an 89,but i changed the plugs rotor botton and fuel filter(just a couple of the things people are telling me to try but now it wont even start without starting fluid.i also forgot to mention that when i get my car started and i turn it off it'll fire right up,no problems.i dont know im still going to get my coil tested but i was thinking the timing was too advanced, does that sound about right...thanks
