HELP!!!!!!!

i have a 84 trans am and the fuel gauge stays at full all the time. what can be the problem. a friend told me i can use my two fingers and gently put pressure on the fuel gauge and it will give me an estimate of how much fuel i have in my tank. is that true? and what can be the cause of the problem and how can i fix it.

your sending unit in the gas tank probably went out, gonna have to drop the tank to fix it

yep sounds like the sending unit. dropping the tank is the right way...but if u want a quicker fix cut the cheater hole. its not the proper way but we've all done it at some point.
