88 IROC problems

Hello everyone. I have a 88 Roc with the L98 TPI and 700R4 auto. I have a few problems with the car such as the temp gauge never works, it rarely moves. Got the code 36 which is causing the hesitation I think. Also, got a huge puff of blue smoke on startup and lasts a few seconds to a minute or so. Fuel tank hums after shutoff and lots of pressure is released when I unscrew the gas cap which stops the humming...anyone have these same problems? Thanks all.

Re: 88 IROC problems

1: Check the sensor on the passenger head.
2: Don't have my book'o'codes in front of me.
3: Sounds like your valve seals need replacing.
4: There's a check valve on your gas tank. Replace it or get a breather gas cap.

Re: 88 IROC problems

36 is no voltage on terminal D of the maf, usually caused by bad burnoff relay.
