Mystery Wire, Help!

Hey everyone. Me and a buddy cleaned up the top of my motor. We just finished putting everytbhing back together but we still have one mystery wire. It comes out of the stock harness and has a fusable link on it. Cant figure out where it goes.

Re: Mystery Wire, Help!

I just put my car back together today. That looks like the same connector that I hooked up from my EGR valve. But mine was on the passengers side of the dizzy and it didnt have a fuseible link in it. See if you have a wire coming off of the EGR base. That's my guess until I can look more tomorrow.

Re: Mystery Wire, Help!

Nothing on the EGR is unaccounted for. I'm so confused.

Re: Mystery Wire, Help!

The only thing I can think of on that side with a single wire and that connector would be the O2 sensor.

Re: Mystery Wire, Help!

Wrong color for the O2 or the timing connector

Looks like it was added. Get a multimeter reading off it, 12v? 5v? IGN power? Ground?

That could be. The later TPI's didn't have that.

Re: Mystery Wire, Help!

hey bowtieboy UPDATE YOUR PROFILE SO WE KNOW WHAT WE"RE DEALING WITH HERE! and yes the only single contact connector dark green wire on the harness is for the EGR temp sensor. judging from the pic, you probably broke the sensor. if so you have problems, discontinued part bud

Re: Mystery Wire, Help!

This may sound dumb, but is the sensor required for driving? Does the PCM pull any info from it?

I'll pull the plenum and tubes tomorrow and see what I cant see.

Thanks everyone!

Re: Mystery Wire, Help!

wont effect drivability, but will give you an engine light, and you may notice a decrease in MPG
