The car starts up fine with starter fluid and once it warms up you can shut it off and start it back up. Fuel pressure is fine and the car is getting spark. Here is the odd thing. I unplugged the number 3 injector and cranked the car and it started with no issues. I plugged it back in and tried to start and it would not start. I then unplugged the number 5 injector and tried to start the car and it started with no issue. When i plug back in #5 it wont start. Any ideas? |
i know this topic is a bit old but i googled and this is what came close to what i was searching for.
i have a similar problem to the person who started this post (car will not start unless using starter fluid)
i brought it to a mechanic and they tried changing the spark plugs, the engine coil, the computer, and the air filters im guessing or some king of filters.
ok this is my problem.
1. engine will not start unless starter fluid is used
2. if starter fluid is used, i have to press on the gas a bit before engine starts up
3. after leaving engine on for 5 minutes, turning it off, waiting 30 sec and then turning it on is no problem (though i still have to apply a bit of gas) but if i leave the car off too long say a few min, it will not start again
i asked a lot of people and they said that it could be the fuel pump or some kind of pressure not getting into the engine or something...
im not sure but wondering if anyone has a more specific answer and a price would be helpful.
thanks a lot.
