Fuel Injectors Q Design4?

Im in need of some new fuel injectors. I HAVE been doing some searching and see that several of you have installed Design3 injectors. I personally dont like how they install and dont wish to have that setup in my car.

I see Delphi has come out with what is called Design4, and come in many sizes. I see FIC list them for the LT motors. I emailed them asking if they would fit in the TPI motor. After 3 days, no answer.

Has anyone here installed Design4? Anyone have access to any to see if they will fit because the wireharness plug appears to be much larger. IMO, if they say they will fit the LT, the height must be similar to fit the TPI.

Re: Fuel Injectors Q Design4?

Graham, your profile says your are using D3's. Is that correct? If so, thats not what I am looking for.

SB, can you confirm they fit?

I have a user who PM'd me and said they do. Anyone else?

That's real nice. Makes you wonder what??? Did you call us to ask any questions? NO! So don't go assuming anything. And for your information ours will fit! We are very well aware of the length!

Well southbay.. my assumtion was based on your sales pitch... not your helpful knowledge which you forgot to give Dale on this forum! I am sorry IROCUROC.. I was trying to help the best I could.. It irritates me when a company sounds like they dont really want to try and help... just sell.. Ive worked with both sides and had both the good and the bad try to sell something to me.. I myself am not a very good sales man. :-)

And what sales pitch might that be? His post said that he was looking for the EV14's,, he emailed FIC and they never responded to him!!! He is looking for a particular set of injectors, we have them, I responded, end of story. Read my post again, maybe i am missing something. I don't want to help???? Why the H_LL do you think I pay to sponsor this forum?? For a sales pitch? It irritates me that you guys never have anything positive to say, you are just so quick to make "assumptions" and bad mouth companies that you have never dealt with! My correspondance is with Dale not with you! So please myob. I will be here to help him in anyway that i can. Now can we get and move on?

Re: Fuel Injectors Q Design4?

WHy can't anyone answer my question.. I'm getting pissed. This petty fighting is so stupid. Who said this who did that etc. It ruins the forums. ALL I WANT TO KNOW IS HOW THE EV14 will work in our cars when the smallest one made is 34lbs not 22 or 24. And its 12mm too short. so how does the adapter clear the flange that is on the rail that uses to hold the clips. Maybe Southbay can answer this instead of fighting with all the members, you are way to sensitive.

Re: Fuel Injectors Q Design4?

Ok, I talked to Jon at FIC now that he is back at work.

The D4's WITH CLIPS are still to short. But you can install the D4's just like D3's w/o the clip and still run. Personally, I didnt care for this....

So he also tried a few other brands of injectors for me while on the phone in a TPI intake he had laying around the shop. Found me something that we felt would work and both be happy with.

Re: Fuel Injectors Q Design4?

We are in the process of searching for the smaller injectors, when we find out what sizes they come in we will post it.
Regarding the fitment of the injector.....we have resovled the problem, they fit perfectly! I will be posting a picture once we get everything together.

I'd like to see what it takes to get a D4 in with clips. Please do post pictures.

the d4 that we put in are fine without the clip, I tried the clip and the slot is too low on the injector therefor pushing the top to far in the rail, making the bottom not seal. Without the clips they were in the rail lower but the upper o ring was in the rail far enough for me to be comfortable. But the injector will spin. The short ev14 (12mm shorter than the D4 long) need adapters to take up the space. There is no way to use the clip with those and then you have two o rings on the top. 1 going into the rail and 1 on top of the injector going into the adapter. The other problem with the short ev14 is that the electrical connector is now much lower and on a few cylinders has the lower part of the runner in the way and you cant get the wire on.. I have been playing with all these injectors and the only new style d4 that will work is the long style 24lb.. While everyone is trying to decide if it fits or not, make sure you watch where the plug ends up. It would suck to buy these and install them only to find out the plug interferes with the runner.
