I'm converting a 350 Chevy engine in my Jeep Wrangler over to TPI. I was using a company that has seemingly disappeared. The last thing this company did was send me Ford fuel injectors to use with the TPI. The main problem I see is that the clips that hold them to the fuel rail are different than the stock GM injectors.
My question:
Is there a different clip that allows the use of Ford injectors with the TPI?

I think they are just used by ford not neccessarily made by ford. Do you know exactly what injectors they are?
The injectors have the following information on them:
Ford 927
F1TE-05A
0280150947
Even though they are made by Ford they look pretty close. The only difference I can see is that there are two groves at the top of both the Ford injector. The top grove goes all the way around and the bottom one does not on the Ford injector. On the GM injector grove goes all the way around. The GM clip on the Ford injector can not rotate and lock the injector in because the bottom grove doesn’t allow it to. Hence my problem and question. Is there a clip that will work with this injector and where could I acquire them?
It is very common practice to use the Ford SVO injectors on our TPI, since they are a little higher lb rating, and a newer/better pintle design. The only "difficult" part I've ever seen, is that they are slightly shorter.
Can't just press them all the way in, then bolt the assembly down. I think they need to be "floated". Fully up or down & there is a slight potential for leaks.
And they are much cheaper, than the "TPI" ones being sold.

Do you mean by; (I think they need to be "floated") that they just sit in their perspective holes and are held there by the fuel rail being bolted down?

No. Still hafta have the rails bolted down, but if the injectrors are pushed all the way up into the rail, or down into the bungs, the other end MIGHT leak.
I think some people have been successful at shaving the rail mounts, to allow them to sit lower & both ends of the injectors to fully seat. But not 100% on HOW they did that. I would assume shaving the manifold side bolt seats/bungs though.
...My Ford svo 24lb injectors seem to work flawlessly in my tpi setup without the clips and my rails arent shaved down at all.No leaks and Ive had them off a few times.

Halleluiah, your words are music to my ears!
I’m going to install them and hope for good fitment and no leaks like yours. What’s the worst that can happen?; they will either leak or they won’t.
The company that sold me my kit clearly stated that the injectors are matched to my engine specifications and should have my engine up and running pretty well on initial startup. Since this is a TPI retrofit on older 350 Chevy it seemed matching the injectors to the engines specifications was the main concern.
Ive never reused the clips. you will be just fine. this is TPI and LT1's
Thanks guys.
This was like a major stumbling point for me with this project, finding the information, being sure, etc. Removed old carburetor setup a year ago and finally only now am I going to get her done! I'm going to install them and forget about it.

No need to shave the rail mounts, the clips should do the trick, if not you can add another oring to the bottom of the injector...it acts as a spacer. The bosch 3's are also 1/8 to 1/4in shorter than stock, we add an additonal oring to the bottom of those injectors also. When you install any one of these injectors the second oring is seated and visible on the outside of the intake...that is what makes up for the length that is missing when installing the rail
The distance between the orings on the Ford/SVO injectors is the same as the stock GM/Bosch/Multech so there are no issues you would not have otherwise.
I'd advise using the clips, some manifolds are not made the same as far as spacing from the injector seat to the rail and its possible to unseat an injector without the clips. Everyone says they're for factory installation purposes only and that is not correct, because I've had a couple factory setups in my hand I was able to unseat an oring besides that members here had exactly that happen without the clips. GM put the clips on to keep the oring at the correct location. If you do not use them, spend some extra time to make sure they're in the rail.
agreed, the clips are there for a reason. On the other hand the bosch 3's do not require clips, the pressure from the fuel rail is what holds them in place.
Hence my original dilemma. The clips that fit the GM injectors DO NOT FIT the Ford injectors. Are there clips that can be used with Ford injectors on a GM fuel rail? If there are such clips where do I purchase them?

i have never seen an Injector UNSEAT itself and spit fuel everywhere. Maybe if someone did have the fuel rail bolted down and was runnning the car.
Ive been messing with fbodys and vettes 4 over 20 years ago now , and have NEVER reused the clips. and Ive NEVER had a problem. on a TPI I put then injectors in the fuel rail 1st. and bolt it down. On LT1's I put them in the intake and then put the fuel rails on.

It sounds like when you say you "never reuse the clips" that you leave them out all together. Is that what you mean?
I have installed my injectors without the clips and they seem pretty snug. I really don't have the experience yet to be sure if they are as tight as they need to be? I should be ready to fire it up in a week or so, I guess time will tell?
Oh and I've been messing with Fbodies for 25 years now. So?
I used them on my SVO injectors. To say they dont fit... well you have not tried. I heard of some the groove was only halfway so they put a groove on the other side of the injector. Simple task. I personally would find a way to use them if at all possible.
golf claps and ego battles aside... can you use these fuel injectors in a 6 cyl? i notice most of u guys have 8 cyl motors... just curious.. cause my motors running rich and everyone says its leaky injectors but im not dropping 75 bucks apiece on em!

Just stating They dont HAVE to be used is all. Its a personal preff. on the clips.
Yes you can use the injectors on a V6. Just size the injector right for your application.
Alot of guys snag up the sc or turbo v6 injectors for our v8 builds. Some of them had bibber injectors in them.
