I was getting ready to do a tune-up on my 91'Z (5.7) and noticed this!
The "cone" (green arrow) looks as though it should connect to the hose (red arrow) in pic #2. There is also a nipple (yellow arrow) that comes out of the hose right before the "cone" that does not appear to go to anything.
I have completed the tune-up, but the car lacks some serious power. The same problem I had before the tune. It idles better and smoother but its like the car shifts into neutral about 40mph and will not increase in speed. The trans has been slipping for a while but as long as the fluid level is up the slip is minimal. I also replaced the fuel filter.
Any suggestions? My wife says sell it ! It's a bit of a POS at the moment but I hope to change that. It also wants to stall out when it's in reverse when the throttle is depressed.
Thanks for any help!

that looks like a vacuum line.
for what, i have no idea.
definitely plug it back together though.
i believe that the yellow arrow should connect to the red arrow though, not green to red.
The 90 degree hose seems like it wraps around the backside to the drivers fender and to the charcoal canister. The other one I didnt trace. Should be easy enough to find one at the boneyard
Thanks man! I'll check that area out! It looks like the line toward the distributor is the one I'm missing.
the one from the manifold goes to the top of the check valve, the one that comes from the hvac goes to the bottom of the valve and the nipple on the side from the distributor should actually go to the fpr I believe, not the distributor.

I have to correct that, as RED_DRAGON said, red to yellow, and green to the fpr.
Thanks everyone, i'll take a closer look and see if any lines are missing etc.. . Cars running like crap I got a code 43 so I'm going to check into that also.

the_kid, the check valve is broken up top, so the hose that has the broken piece is the hose that goes up top and the fpr to the available end. That is the easiest and best way to tell what the configuration is. Good luck.
