100psi oil gauge in place of fuel pressure gauge?

hey all,

I'm having fuel pressure issues, and just blew the gauge on my fuel rail (accell 60psi) after doing the return line squeeze test to confirm my fuel pump was working to its full potential. no shops have pressure gauges here and I need to get my car straightened out over the weekend. it was recommended to me to use an oil pressure gauge in a pinch (fluid filled) by the local speed shop. have any of you done this, and would it be an acceptable temporary replacement? i'm not fond of fires or things of that nature, but losing 3 or 4 days of tuning and work to get another gauge shipped is going to be seriously unhandy.

thanks!

Works fine ; the copper tube inside the gauge doesn't know what liquid is in it ;
just that the 100 psi scale is harder to read acurately

Re: 100psi oil gauge in place of fuel pressure gauge?

make sure you use a isolater (spelling) to keep all the gas out from inside the car... get the right Guage. AND DO THE REPAIR only 1 time..

above 1 for the eng.. and 1 for the NOS.
as luck would have it at.. A FAST LOOK when checking the Guages.
all needles are pointed strate up on all 3. (when running)

showing
925/950 nos bottle
7 1/2 psi nos fuel pump
54psi eng gas presh

sweet how that came out

you can get a test gauge at most auto stores that will allow you to set the pressure.
