I found a few decent deals on what i believe to be a stock TPI setup out of a 92 Camaro Z28, including the stock manifold, wiring harness, a fairly new computer, distributer etc... my question is will i be able to run a fuel injection system on my 383 with these basic parts and some mild to aggressive porting? maybe some mild upgrades? id like to blow 2500 on a HSR... but cant afford that right now. Is this venture even worth the time or should i just keep hunting? The last thing i want to do is starve an engine thats pushiing roughly 475hp to the flywheel. Please help. Im so new to this TPI thing and could use ANY advice/ guidance. Thanks in advance.

Are you getting TPI with 350 block from donor car? Or do you have seperate block that you are stroking to 383? TPI computer will work for HSR. Cost of used TPI wiring and computer is probably a lot less than aftermarket unit. However aftermarket EFI system may make tuning easier.
Here is an article that compares different intakes on a 383. Stock TPI intake & manifold yielded 410 hp and 501ftlbs. HSR yielded 501hp and 493 ftlbs. Stock TPI will still give you fun motor in short term.
Sorry, 383 stroker, 4 bolt splayed mains, scat forged steel rotating assembly with forged dished pistons, AFR 195CC heads with 72cc ports (est. compression ratio of 9.5:1) I know this setup should be able to easily push 450-500 hp to the flywheel. with the right injection system, im just trying to be budget friendly. How hard would it be to get a factory TPI system with maybe an aftermarket intake and ported rails, intake etc. to feed that hungry of an engine? I guess i have to ask as well, by the time i get it flowing to the point of feeding a very hungry engine, would i have been better off to just grab a HSR? Oh, the system im looking at getting is listed for $700

Here's a link to an article using different EFI systems, including the stock TPI on a "500-horse" 383. It'll give you an idea of what the power curves would look like with the stock TPI compared to a HSR. http://www.compcams.com/community/ar...?ID=1737510521
my cousin was gonna do a 383 TPI stroker for his 89 camaro but one thing we found out is that the stock TPI runners and plenum WILL NOT provide adiquit air to the engine.. you would have to upgrade those as well as the injectors.. also as i am doing a TBI to TPI upgrade its a real pain (but worth it) the other thing is what year is that motor??? the bolt patern for the maifoilds might be different. the TPI is angled in the back 2 bolts and the front 2 but not the middle... plus i heard roumors about vortect TPI but dont realy know anything about that one.. so if you do decide all the luck for it and do a lot of reading. plus you do need a 45 psi or greater fuel pump and an electronic disributor. something too look at is an aftermarket injection system from eldibrock. they will have them for all aplications and simple wiring set ups that utilize the stock harness.. also they have that carb look to them that everyone loves
