upgrading TPI Z-28

Installing new full roller rocker arms, Do I needed to modify my value covers to fit. Seems tight where PVC setup fits between rockers, and are the orginal covers tall enough (running 1.52). I also need to find EGR value temperature sensor if possible or do any have a soluation for that problem?1985 Z-28 (L9)

Re: upgrading TPI Z-28

First off welcome a lot of good information here on the boards just takes some time to search for it.

I'm running comp cams magnum 1.52 roller rockers and the valve covers fit just fine. Which ones are you running? GM I think stopped making EGR for our engines, but I'm probably wrong. I would start junkyard diving for the EGR temp sensor, find a couple and see which ones work. BTW I think this thread would be better in the TPI forum.

I'm running Procomp motorsport rockers (1.52), and it rubbing on the chamber inside the value. Wonder if I could cut out part of that?

I think this topic might be in the wrong section. Less to do with the History and more to do with the TPI section. In the right place, you'll get the best responses.

Upgrading my rocker arms to full roller rockers (Procomp Motorsport/ratio 1.52), seems to have clearance issue where the PVC value setup in the covers. Do I need to & can I modify those baffles inside? Are those value covers tall enough 1985 Z-28 (LB9) for the lift.

Re: upgrading TPI Z-28

1st time I did 1.6 rockers I had to gut my original valve covers,2nd time around I just bought a pair of polished alluminum ones.from ebay. But yea the originals will work if you gut them out.
