Hello all...I was wondering how much power some of the iroc owners or L98 owners are making? I've heard some stories they are restricted or something?? I hope not...Anyways, would love to see some numbers.
270 Hp on Stock Cam and Ported Intake with ZZ4 heads, and the Factory Dual Cat to a Flowmaster 80 series with a PCMFORLESS tune. Truthfully its a lot of work for 270 hp. I went about it in kinda a weird way. I REALLY should be running a cam and an exhaust. Im just too lazy to get under the car haha.

hey f-body demon..... did you get your pcm4less tune mail ordered or tuned in person.... i have a pcm4less tune also and im in north carolina as well... i was wondering how u did your chip to get those numbers.... if you got 270 then i should have 300 or so.....
My tune is actually a mail order for New Mexico which sits at 5000 feet above sea level, I need to have it re-done to allow for more fuel. I should pick up another 5-10 once thats done. But I dug and dug and dug my butt off for any info I could find about flow numbers of the heads, size of the cam...everything. They give you a huge sheet to fill out if you havnt seen it, you just do all you can and they do the rest. Nothing in particular you can do for more power.

oh... i have a mail order tune also... i gave them every bit of info as well including headflow numbers and size of the cam..... i was just thinking maybe we could see more power if we actually got it dyno tuned by alvin in charlotte...
thats reassuring for me.I`ve been thinking about using them to do my tune when I get the intake swap finished.270 is great on stock cam and basicly 113 casting heads which i`m(zz4) using.Where did you get your flow data to send them?Did you have it dynoed to give you that 270 hp number?I`ve heard the zz4s were better than the old 113s.
i think the zz4 heads are just cleaned up 113 vette heads.. i have a buddy that has a zz4 crate motor in a monte carlo.... very strong car... but i can take it...
I know they`re not great heads.Just sayingyhey`re a little better than the old 113 castings.I was hoping he had dyno numbers to back up that 270 hp claim with those heads andstock cam.If so makes me feel good about my chances after intake swap and tune.
You can take your buddys zz4 with similar heads and you have a better cam, plus you weigh much less. What intake and other mods does he have.I`m` really thinking of going with the hot cam or zz4 cam.Or something similar. You running in 12`s?Do our stock type heads even flow well enough for the hot cams lift?
all he has is a stock zz4 crate motor with headers and exhaust...... he hasnt done any wieght reduction and he has a 2000 dollar tci 700r4 tranny.... but my 700r4 is built to hell also.... yes the stock l98 heads can take the hotcam, im running 1.5 instead of 1.6 rockers to help tame the cam down.... so the lift is .492 .492 218 by 228 duration...i have the car tune to take the hotcam also.. i also have manely springs, retainers and screw in studs to handle the lift of the hotcam... with my build ive beaten modded nissan 300zx, sti's, modded 92 mustang gt, i honestly havent lost to anyone ive raced on the streets.. but i dont race that much anyways.... all this running stock modded iron heads and modded highflow tpi...
id say it cost me 2500 for the entire engine from oil pan to highflow tpi and i have a 4340 forged crank and rods... its alot cheaper to build it yourself than buying a crate engine...
Theres gotta be more TPI owners making some power to the wheels!!! Is 300rwhp possible with bolt ons and engine work...I'd like to keep the original plenum and such..
Please see the sticky post at the top of the TPI forum entitled "Quest for a better flowing TPI." You'll see my engine making well over 300 RWHP with a long tube runner setup, a SuperRam setup, and a siamesed runner setup.

The tune im running is for a stock L98 haha, but I used a combo of 1/4 mile time and weight to derive my horse power mark. Its actually quite accurate if you have a good weight on your car. BTW 13.51 @ 96.29
