TPI injector upgrade
hello everyone,
I decided after some injector issues to look at other ideas for injectors since the ones our tpi's come with are junk! I seen the bosch 3s that southbay offers and was thinking what other injectors are similar that don't need adapters..
so I discovered that gm L36 3800 {non supercharged} also runs 22# injectors and up to around 2002-03 had the same plug as ours.
the gm 3.4l engines use the 19lb injectors for the 305's up to around the same years the plugs are the same.
I have found that after 2003 the injectors changed to a new style on both engines and have a new plug.
I decided to take a chance and got 8 number matching injectors of the new style from a local yard and got the plugs with them as well, it has been a week now and the car has been running amazing. it was the best 80$ I spent in a while that made such a big change. almost forgot all I had to change other than the bottom oring was 4 plastic nubs on the new injectors had to be nipped off with some cutters so they would fit in the rail at the top
I figured since I have never seen anything I would just put this out there for you guys
I tried to attach a pic so hope it worked

Good info in a pinch, but I like SB's deal, along with the 3 year warranty on rebuilt and flow matched pieces.
But like I said, that's solid info if you are down, and have some time to find them.

Great info! I'll be swapping from carb to TPI soon and there are lots of those engines in the yards around me. Any idea what the # rating is on the injectors in the supercharged version of the 3800? Just in case I need a cheap upgrade?

You spent $80 at a junk yard and didn't walk away with at least half a car.
