dealership discontinued mafs
Went to Chevy for a new maf and was told they're discontinued and also the fuel pump relay !!!!! There are some available in other states but they advised me of the damage that could happen during shipping.. I ordered a reman (through Chevy) from Napa,,, $400.00.....Brand new $864.00....Picked up the reman at Chevy (first one was a pos and sent back)....I did not give them mine for a core ($61.00), not sure why but I kept it !!!
Installed in my car and is running a lot better !! The symptoms I had were:
ran great at idle
hesitating,, bogging,, cutting out,, power loss,, bad smell from running rich as hell,, when accelerating !! SES would flash on and off while driving.. Only code was 33...
Also,, while figuring out the maf I replaced with brand new maf burn off relay and maf power relay and also for the hell of it changed the 20A fuse between battery and radiator....... One of those 3 (not sure which one) fixed my no start when hot problem........
This reman has the same 1 year warranty as a brand new one and I hope it lasts along time... Would rather have a brand new one !!!!!

OUCH!
Should have checked the part classified. I have one for sale for $60 lightly used: https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/engi...cannister.html

Re: dealership discontinued mafs
so far, the best aftermarket MAFs are made by "rich porter". I got mine at oreilleys. just shy of $500, but worth every penny.
