Tranny option choices

I'm started work on my 86 T/A, and i'm starting to plan the drivetrain. I had a 400 pontiac engine bought, but when i found out how complicated that swap would be, i decided to put a 305 back in for the time being. Now i need to choose a tranny.I narrowed it down to three choices, but i have some questions i hoped you could answer for me

1.)th700r4- What is the max amount of horsepower you can push through these things with out causing problems. Eventualy, i want a motor pushing about 400hp, and i don't want to have to worry about bad trannys. They are also fairly expensive to build, so that is a turn off.

2.)th2004r- What did this tranny come in originaly. I can live with the 2.74 first gear ratio, and the .67 fourth gear ratio would make good for cruising. How much power can one of these handle?

3.)Th350- Is this the same as a turbo 350? Again, what is the max hp it can handle.

And a couple more questions. The 700r4 is the easiest to put in. What about the other two? I know that they are shorter and smaller, so will i need a new tranny crosmember? relocate the old one? Also, will i have to change the driveshaft, or the tailshaft(i think thats what they call it).
And finally, is the 350, and the 2004r available in electronic speedo? or would i have to do something there too?
Thanks alot. I appreciate any help you could give me.
