High mileage tranny?

Probably loose fits, high internal leakage, and/or worn 3-4 clutch pack.

I feel your pain (see sig).

I never ever ever trust rebuild auto trans....NEVER....my 700R4 started that a few days ago....look where it ended up last night...see sig....go by a T5 and install that...cheaper, more fun, and if you know how to drive a stick more reliable..and when they do break usally cheap to fix like $52 cheap to fix
