You have taken the right steps by getting a case girdle, welding the tubes, etc. Look like you found Dan's article!
The spool is going to keep your rear wheels locked together at all times. Hard launches with slicks will increase the stress presented to the axle assembly, possibly increasing the chance of breakage. If you have done everything from the tech articles to re-inforce the rear axle, I'd presume you should be able to dish 350 horse to that 10-bolt.
Rear axles are not fun to blow up, they make hellish messes.
