Ok, heres what happens... I ratchet down to 1st from a dead stop, then gun it, fully anticipating to ratchet from 1st to 2nd, but all of the sudden I feel the tranny do that for me, at a much lower RPM range than I wanted, also causeing me to have to ratchet twice to get to where I need to be to shift to 3rd and then on to 4th. I don't get it.... what happening? Also, how come when I go and put it in 4th (Auto) some times it isn't really 4th (Auto), I'm in Nuetral. and have to ratchet down again (Kinda the same thing as above, this thing about having open areas that I have to shift through). I'm not sure what to do.... anyone have any ideas? Thanks!
Adam

Need a shift kit (yes I know thats a trans go patent). What you are experiencing is a safety feature added to some transmissions to force an automatic upshift to prevent over revving. Same thing on the down shift, it won't downshift if rpm would be too high.
I am assuming you have enough brains to remove the fourth gear quadrant screw on the shifter, you do have four forward gear selections on the shifter right? If not remove the screw.
