Leaking Fluid

My 83z28 T5 is leaking fluid around the bell housing. Is there anything that can be done to this tranny, such as a rebuild? I need to replace my clutch soon, but I don't want to remove the tranny twice. If I can fix my tranny great, if not I guess I will wait on the clutch until the tranny completely fails. Thanks

From my limited experience with taking apart a T-5. The only way it could leak was if one of the shaft seals were worn or the tailshaft was not properly sealed. Its possible that too much fluid could cause a leak too.

You said it was leaking at the bellhousing, are you sure its the tranny and not the engine/clutch?

I agree with lifesun. Check to make sure it is tranny fluid.
T5 run on Auot trans fluid.
So If it is leaking it will be red.
You can buy the rebuild kit from www.gearzone.net
I'm sure theye even have books and videos how to do it.
So if your going to do your clutch, If the tranny needs it since you have it out, you may as well rebuil it.
