torque converter fluid level

In the middle of a swap son needs to know what the level of fluid in the torque converter shuold be and how to tell?

you don't set or check the fluid level of the torque convertor, when you start the car up it will fill on its own,

Thanks for the quick response . I wasnt to sure cause i had a mechanic from work do one for me last year and he pre filled it and ot was the wrong converter so when i took it back they hassled me about it. Now I know why.
