My dads rearend

Hi I was wondering could you guys identify my dads 10-bolt axel?

numbers are 9783393

It's more common to identify it by shape of the cover and a stamped number on the axle tube.
That number you list is also a 12 bolt car number from the early 70's to late 60's. Casting numbers usually aren't very specific.

Take off the cover and look. Numbers don't get changed but the guts do.

count the number of teeth on the pinion and ring gears........then divide the ring# by the pinion#
