t56 ATF capacity

Does anyone know off hand how much ATF a T56 takes? I put mine in, and when I put in ATF, I only got a little more than 2qts in it before it started coming out of the fill hole. But I had it on stands, and some of the shifts are a little rougher than I expected. So I'm wondering if I might have not filled it enough, or if my synchros are going. Thanks!

I got a hold of a t-56 service manual for the place I work and I looked through it and it says i holds approximately 2 quarts of fluid, as long as it started to drip out the fill hole you will be fine, that is the proper lubrication info from a 95 t56 service manual.
