Hissing sound from T-5 - Third Generation F-Body Message Boards

lately I have a hissing sound coming from the transmission in like 2nd and 3rd gear. I hear it when i get on the gas and when I push on the shifter. I never had this problem unitl i installed my pro 5.0. Could I have the overtravel stops to close to the shifter?

A decent aftermarket shifter like that doesn't have all sorts of weenie plastic pieces that would damp the vibration the way stock shifters do, and which also make it feel like it's connected to a bowl of oatmeal instead of a transmission (the reason you replaced it in the first place).

It's completely normal.

Excellent. I was thinking about that after I made my initial post. I was thinking how since it is built out of solid metal there aren't all of the dampening features like there is on the stock one.
