OK, I have a 1994 Formula and it had a 4L60E in it, but i kept getting the "OBD1 glitch" where you can't have a stall higher then 3200 or it won't shift out of first. So, to fix this, I got a built 700-R4 out of a 86' (late 86 with the upgraded pump and other revisions) IROC Z. Now, it shifts very low, like 4800 RPM, so I got a B&M governor recalibration kit to solve this problem, but I have a problem, I can't find the governor cover to even get to the governor, there are two things on it that i think might be it, one is a large balck circle but i tried to get that off to no avail, the other is a smaller circle with a electrical plug in it and one bolt with a clip holding it on, i think that might be it, but i thought it was the larger circle cap because that is the size of the gasket it comes with? So does anyone know where it is? Thanks!!!

Drivers side toward rear of trans, forward of speedo connection. Domed sheet metal cover, about 3-4 inches in diameter.
Ok, that is what i thought it was, but i can't get it off for the life of me, how do i get the cover off??? it says in the directions that there is a clip that holds it in, but i see no clip and i tried to pry with a screwdriver, that sure didn't work. There must be an easier way!!!

From the pic's I've seen the older models had the wire clip over the cover. It looks like a putty knife or something thin needs to be driven under the cover flange to lift it off.
The manual states that a sealant needs to be applied prior to reseating the cover. HiTack looks like it should work.
OK, thats why it says get a punch in the tools needed list, i did not even know what that was, but i'm gonna go to sears right now and get one, you have been a greater help to me then everything i've found on all the internet on 700R4s, thanks man!!! I REALLY appreciate it!!!
