i have 84 trans am with a 5.7 and the t-5 in it.... im gettin the tranny rebuilt here in a few weeks and i was thinkin about puttin a short throw shifter in while it was being rebuilt...any suggestions on a good one to get thanx
hurst is the way to go, ive got the one with adjustable stops and it rules, you can really shift fast and hard with it. theyve been making shifters for a long time.
the hurst is a very nice unit, i have driven a car with one at an auto-x event. i made sure to use all three of them (B&M, Hurst, Pro5.0) before i bought mine, i prefer the pro5.0 over the rest, the hurst is a very close 2nd, and b&m is a distance third.
Pro 5.0. It is the coolest feeling shifter ever. Very strong, doesn't flex at all, shifts are rediculously short, and it makes a wicked "clink" sound whenever you shift.
