how much power can a 700R4 handle stock?

Basically, same as subject. How much Hp/TQ can a stock 700R4 withstand? I've got one that I bought off of someone.. Supposedly, it has an 11-vane pump, corvette servo, and a shift improver kit.. and 31-spline input shaft.. If it has all this like it is suppose to, would it be safe to install it behind my 300hp/375TQ 400sbc? Also, using the stock torque converter. I have a 3.42 posi & a cam like 2 steps above stock.. probably 224 - 230* adv. duration.. I think it's a 270 magnum cam, but not sure..

If it doesnt have the upgrades, and is stock, would it be safe to install it if i took it easy?

Thanks for any advise & input..

I blew my 700 at least 6 to 8 times, and the car was mainly stock. Part of the problem was the %#@$ *** bandit that was building it. But yours sounds like it will hold up.

It came from an 85 IROC w/TPI.. As long as it was beefed up like the guy said, I think it'll last.. I just wont try to beat on it too bad.. lol My only other concern is installing it with the stock torque converter.. I would like to b/c it would help my mpg& save me some $$$$ on the swap.. Last time it was on the road, i was averaging 7mpg with a half-dead 600 carb, 3.70 rear, & th-350 tranny w/a 2500stall converter.. I changed the carb to a good performer 750, gears to 3.42, and now it's time for the tranny..
