Would someone mind doing me a favor? (Need pics)
Hi. I believe that the uppermost part of my T5 gearbox is leaking. It's hard to determine if it is that, or the tail seal, but I'm leaking TONS of fluid when I drive, but I cannot pinpoint the leak exactly.
Does anyone have any photographs of the upper part of the transmission, where the shifter handle enters the gate plate? Where are the seals located, and what should I expect to find, when I pull my center console to take a look when the weather warms up next spring?
Thanks in advance for the help!

FWIW....
TTC has their manuals online in PDF format.

Their manuals are excellent and have plenty of exploded diagrams, instructions, etc.

If you guys get tired of the mess and sometimes stink of silicone, try an anaerobic seler better suited for the job. http://www.holdtite.com/english/handbook/page07a.htm is an example.
Clean parts with brake parts cleaner, apply a even bead.
Not near as messy and makes a much nicer looking finished product. My $.02

Yeah, I originally installed the plate upside-down, because I was paying attention to the patent pending text on the plate, and not to the plate itself, so I got RTV all over my socket when I flipped it back around. If you could see it, I would have taken the time to clean it all up, but since chances are good that I'll never have to go there again, I wont waste what little time I have on fixing the car. I still have a few more small things to fix up and then I'll be back to 110%

Well, at this rate of assembly, I should be done by 2007... No screws left over yet!
