alright guys what is the difference between these trannys 93-97 t56 98-02 t56 what are pros and cons for my ls1 swap to my 89 iroc vert what is easiest to swap and cheapest oh and best performance if theres any thanks

There are differences in the input shaft, bellhousing, and clutch hydros. The 2 styles are NOT interchangeable, and which one you use should be dictated by what engine it's going behind. If you're swapping in an LS1, use the LS1 version. For anything else, use the LT1 version. It's as simple as that.
The '93 trannys had deeper ratios than the later years, and also came with a much lower torque rating (350ftlb for the M28 or 400ftlb for the M29, as compared to 450ftlb for '94 and up.) The '93-97 version is also rumored to be stronger, even though they have the same ratings.
