Got a hole in the trans cooler line...

Got to work and noticed a very light bit of smoke coming from under the hood.. Opened it up and saw one hell of a mess, trans fluid on the whole passenger side of the engine bay, looked a little closer and saw it was misting out from between the engine and the k-member. After letting it cool I got under there and cut out that section of the tube and replaced with some rubber hose, I belive it was hydraulic line, it held up to 150psi with hose clamps on it so I figure it should hold up for a little while.

I still can't belive how much of a mess it made, from the battery to the fire wall on the passenger side, and under the car from a-arm to the rear of the floor pan. Got all burned and sticky on the cat and exhaust pipes too. 1 hour to fix it and 4 to clean... its been a fun day..

i'd replace the line, it's only a matter of time before the rubber line fails.

yeah i know, the rubber hose was just a temp fix. i want to just go and run some hydraulic or steel braided line to make it easy and not go thru the trouble of bending a new steel line when its all going to be coming out in 3 or 4 months for a ls1/m6 swap. i've seen others do it with the steel braided line and i know it will hold up to the temps and pressure, so it should be all good right?
