I have a rebuildable 700R4 that I recently pulled. What can I do with it? Are there places to take them that may offer money or credit for future work or purchases? I hate to throw it away if someone can fix it up.
You could buy a master rebuild kit for it from http://shop.store.yahoo.com/performa...00r44l60e.html for $115 and rebuild it. Otherwise you could sell it on the classifieds for like $50-$100 and say it needs a rebuild. Someone like myself would buy it and rebuild it.
If I had the money to cover shipping I'd buy it in a second. Put it up on the classified section. You should be able to unload it real quick for $50. Whoever bought it would be getting all the hard parts so that's a darn good deal I think.
I think the best might be to drag it to the woods to store it. If I do need one for a core charge someday, I will know where to find one. If it is gone by then, then it probably got put to good use anyway.
I may try a local free ad first. I could get $50 and someone else could save $50 if they are faced with a $100 core charge.
Still, if someone knows another way to get a little for one without giving it away, I'd like to hear it.
