4L60E -2 piece vs. 1 piece bell housing

Guys, I'm in need of some help.

Currently, I have a '96 suburban, 5.7L vortec, with a 4L60E, (1pc. RPO- M30) RWD, 1500 series transmission. I smoked the trans just the other day, and was wondering what my options were.

I work at a scrap yard, and have lots of SIMILAR transmissions in stock. Most of the have a removable bell housing (2pc. trans.)
but seem to be common for V6 models.

My question is -Will a 2 piece transmission be compataible?
if not what are the differences?
The only thing I can think of that may be different is the torque converter (perhaps a different stall from V6-V8?)

Guys what are my options?
I notice that most RWD/4WD transmissions are 4L60E's.
my computer @ work does not show an interchange from v6-v8, but that may be because there are minor provisions to be made...

please help!

Later,
Corey.
