clutch chatter--help please!

Hi, I bought a 83'z28 h.o., with a 5 spd. about two months ago, really like it, only has 62k org. miles, but am puzzled, any thoughts would be appreciated. This is what it does...when I start in first gear and give it a little gas, it will chatter slightly. If I just let out the clutch slowly and when in gear then give it gas...it is fine. This is when it really chatters...I went for a 50 mile freeway ride, and when I came up to red lights and let out the clutch in first and give it gas...it chatters a lot. It is mostly after I run it on frwy, around town not much trouble.
It is not leaking any oil, so am assuming the rear main seal is still good, do not have to add any oil. The clutch adj. seems to be good with maybe 1 in. freeplay. The clutch does not slip. The only thing I could think of is mainly the flyweel may have a hot spot from previous owner. If it has a hot spot, why does it chatter more after running it on frwy?, does the clutch heat up more, thus the hot spot is more noticible??? Can anything be done outside of taking it out, and milling it down, or replacing it?? I am assuming if it has to come out, might as well replace the clutch too.
How much trouble is it to take it out on jacks on the street, or does it have to be done on a lift???
Appreciate any and all suggestions, thanks, Dennis

Probably gets oil or trans fluid on the clutch disc. The mechanical linkage makes it worse, because the engine can move around a little in response to the torque it produces, and that affects the clutch linkage.

Mine used to do that too. I have hydraulics in it now. Much better.
