TKO Shifter, what fits?

I contacted a couple of companies and no one seems to make a shorter throw shifter for the TKOs for our cars. Has anyone found another one that works? Is there a company that makes one?

That shifter is too far forward, it hits the stereo when in 1,3, and 5.

Can you modify the shaft? That is why I like the Pro 5.0 shifters so much. You can unbolt the shaft and either replace it with one of your own or do whatever you want with it.

Ya, you probably could, but that is what I did to my stock TKO shifter. The problem is geometry, if I move it back the shifter moves more up and down and it makes for a funny feeling shift.

I have a Tremec 3550, the TKO uses the same shifter. I bought the Pro 5.0 shifter but you can only use the base, which works awsome btw. The handle MUST be fabricated, it's very easy to do, just bend the proper size roundbar, cut thread for the knob (or bend an existing shifter handle) and weld it onto an angled plate (mine is angled about 10 degrees towards the driver side) that bolts to the base via 2 bolts. Allow me to illustrate.

I did the same thing with the stock shifter but I didn't like the feel, that is why I am looking for a different one. If you say the throw is shorter, is it much shorter or a little. My throw from 1 to 2nd is 7". My old B&M on my t5 was 4.5". I am looking for something like that.

I know exactly what you mean with the awkward up down motion of the shifter, unfortunately that's a problem I've decided to live with and adapt to. My throw is pretty short, less than 5 inches for sure going 1-2, which is ballpark what i was aiming for with the shifter. If you find away to eliminate the up down motion, let me know.
