4L60E Shifting problems!!

I have a 95 Z28 with a 4L60E. Just put a 3000 TCI stall in it. At wide open throttle it will go to about 5200rpm and then free rev until it hits the rev limiter a few times then shift. If i let out just before 5000rpm it will shift ok. What happened? And how can i fix it? Have a trans cooler and fluid is fine!!!

it sounds as if the detent cable is too tight or your throttle valve is sticking. you may want to try popping the governer out and cleaning it. The last time i had one that wouldn't shift untill i let out of it, it was the govener...

The 1995's were OBD1's, and to resolve this, talk to Ed Wright about this problem.
